Hear the voice of Je¤sus call¤ing!
Come and work while it is day;
Ere the dark¤ness o¤ver¤take you,
Oh! a¤rise and haste a¤way.
There’s no time for i¤dle dream¤ing,
Look up¤on the fields now white;
Let it move your heart to la¤bour
Soon will fall the shades of night.

Chorus:
¤Call¤ing thee, ¤call¤ing thee,
Hear the low¤ly Man of Sor¤rows,
He is call¤ing, call¤ing ¤thee.
call¤ing thee, call¤ing thee, call¤ing thee.

Heark¤en to the voice of Je¤sus,
He is call¤ing once a¤gain;
Are you still un¤moved with pit¤y?
See the light is on the wane.
And the har¤vest still is wait¤ing–
Few to gath¤er in the sheaves.
Will it per¤ish? Will it per¤ish?
How the heart of Je¤sus grieves!

Haste! the night is fast ap¤proach¤ing,
Rise and work while yet you may;
You have seen the fields all rip¤’ning,
And their cry¤ing need dis¤play.
You have heard the Sav¤iour call¤ing,
And the dearth of la¤b’rers plead;
You have felt His claims up¤on you,
And have seen the ur¤gent need.

Heark¤en! He is call¤ing, call¤ing;
Can you still at ease re¤main?
Will you let the har¤vest per¤ish,
Shall His plead¤ing be in vain?
And the night is sure¤ly com¤ing,
Har¤vest days will soon be o’er;
Soon your priv¤i¤lege to la¤bour
Will be gone for ev¤er¤more.
