I am a stran¤ger in the earth,
Hide not Thy pre¤cious word.
Much com¤fort, peace and bles¤sed¤ness
To me it doth af¤ford,
My soul is long¤ing now to prove
Thy judg¤ments pure and true,
Thy word is hid¤den in my heart,
To in¤fluence all I do.

En¤large my heart and I shall run
The way of Thy com¤mands,
And I will choose the way of life,
For this Thy law de¤mands;
I shall ob¤serve and keep Thy law,
There¤in I do de¤light,
And I will walk at lib¤er¤ty,
Re¤joic¤ing in the light.

My heart is fixed on Thee, my God,
Thou shalt my life con¤trol.
Thy quick¤’ning spir¤it now im¤part,
Thou guard¤ian of my soul,
I dai¤ly, hour¤ly need Thy grace,
Be Thou my strength and tower,
And keep me safe from eve¤ry foe,
By Thine Al¤might¤y power.

My days are but a hand¤breadth here,
Lord teach me to be wise.
The low¤ly way, Thy chast¤’ning hand
I shall not then de¤spise,
Stay Thou my mind on things a¤bove,
And from Thy boun¤teous store,
Give me the grace and vir¤tue now,
To serve and love Thee more.

Guide Thou my feet when dark the way,
And Sa¤tan’s power I feel.
Di¤rect me with Thy still small voice,
Thy mind and will re¤veal,
Dwell Thou with¤in and keep me pure
And sub¤ject to Thy will,
Then I shall praise Thy Ho¤ly name,
And right¤eous¤ness ful¤fill.

Re¤mem¤ber, Lord, how short my time,
Thy will for me un¤fold.
The days and years so swift¤ly pass,
Spent like a tale that’s told,
And soon this earth¤ly house must fall,
Let not my pray’r be vain,
Help me to live that af¤ter death
My life may speak a¤gain.
