Number: 172
English: I suspect this is another one that Wilfred notated with his DOS program. (No time sig, but 3/2, opposing stems.) Hymnary has several instances of the tune in 3/4 time. I've used that 3/4 time.

I want to give my¤self to prayer,
In mer¤cy, Lord, be¤stow Thy grace,
I would in all hu¤mil¤i¤ty
Of mind and heart now seek Thy face.

’Tis thus my soul de¤sires to serve,
By prayer and faith¤ful min¤is¤try,
To call those lost and wan¤d’ring sheep,
That they may find their rest in Thee.

O Lamb of God, Thy blood was shed
To make a¤tone¤ment for the soul,
And save Thy peo¤ple from their sins,
To ful¤ly cleanse and make them whole.

I will ap¤proach Thy mer¤cy seat,
My spir¤it poor, with Thee I plead,
I have no might, In¤crease my strength,
Thy grace and strength I sore¤ly need.

Men ought to pray, the Sav¤iour said,
Faint not and God will have re¤spect;
Though faith and pa¤tience may be tried,
God shall a¤venge His own e¤lect.
