In the path of life there are man¤y foes,
But we trust in God’s great ¤power,
Je¤sus un¤der¤stands and the way He knows,
He will be our strength and tower.

Chorus:
God’s ten¤der com¤pas¤sions will nev¤er fail,
His love can¤not change we shall sure pre¤vail,
He is now in¤ter¤ced¤ing for us a¤bove,
For ¤our God is a God of love.

Gird¤ing up our loins we will for¤ward press,
For the prize is now in ¤view,
He will sure de¤fend when our foes dis¤tress,
Keep us faith¤ful, firm and true.

If we suf¤fer now and en¤dure the strife,
Our re¤ward is great and ¤sure,
To the faith¤ful soul there’s a crown of life,
In¤cor¤rupt¤i¤ble and pure.

Let us bear the cross till the crown is won,
In the Sav¤iour’s strength made ¤strong,
When the Mas¤ter calls, “En¤ter in, well done,”
We shall join the blood washed throng.
