Low and sweet a voice is call¤ing,
“Souls of mine, why will ye ¤die?”
’Tis the Sav¤iour, meek and low¤ly–
He is pass¤ing, pass¤ing by.

Chorus:
Pass¤ing by, pass¤ing by,
Pass¤ing by, per¤haps for¤ev¤er;
Pass¤ing by, per¤haps for¤ev¤er;
Je¤sus now is pass¤ing by.

Ten¤der¤ly He rea¤sons with you:
Drear¤y are the wastes of ¤sin;
Pleas¤ures sought have failed and van¤ished;
Cheer¤less is your heart with¤in.

Peace with¤out al¤loy He giv¤eth
To the yield¤ed heart and ¤life,
His e¤ter¤nal love sus¤tain¤ing
Mid the world’s un¤rest and strife.

Oth¤ers may have proved un¤faith¤ful–
Je¤sus nev¤er will be¤¤tray.
O be ear¤nest, rise and fol¤low–
Do not wait an¤oth¤er day.
