O Lord, for¤bid that I should be
Un¤will¤ing now to fol¤low Thee,
My Mas¤ter’s foot¤steps I would trace.
For me He ¤took the low¤est place.

In mer¤cy, Lord, main¤tain my lot,
Help me to serve and, faint¤ing not,
Lest self¤ish¤ness should o’er me steal,
The mind of ¤Christ in me re¤veal.

Purge out all sin, all self ef¤face,
That I may serve sus¤tained by grace.
Thy gen¤tle¤ness in me im¤part
A meek and ¤low¤ly, con¤trite heart.

Low in the dust I fain would lie,
My Sav¤iour’s name to mag¤ni¤fy,
With spir¤it sanc¤ti¤fied and meet

Lord, from my in¤most heart I pray
For strength to keep me in the way.
