Search me, O Lord, and know my in¤most heart,
Let Thy pure light now pen¤e¤trate each part;
I would be pure, my spir¤it would be free
To love and serve in har¤mo¤ny with Thee.

Search me, O Lord, and try this heart of mine,
Search me and prove if I in¤deed am Thine.
Test by Thy word, that nev¤er changed can be,
My strength of hope and liv¤ing faith in Thee.

Search me, O Lord, my thoughts in mer¤cy try,
Let naught es¤cape Thine all dis¤cern¤ing eye.
Know eve¤ry thought, then help me gra¤cious¤ly
To fix my mind and will to hon¤our Thee.

Search me, O Lord, and from the dross of sin
Re¤fine as gold, and keep me pure with¤in;
Search Thou my ways, whose springs Thine eye can see,
