Seek¤ing for a bet¤ter coun¤try,
Pil¤grims, we are march¤ing on,
God is call¤ing, we will fol¤low
Where the Mas¤ter’s feet have gone.

Chorus:
Suf¤f’ring must pre¤cede the glo¤ry,
But we know His will is best;
Af¤ter toil and trib¤u¤la¤tion,
Comes the joy of home and rest.

Call’d of God to fol¤low Je¤sus,
And His foot¤steps dai¤ly trace;
Love di¤vine, so pure and change¤less,
Speeds us on to run the race.

Oft the des¤ert way is drear¤y,
But our hearts re¤joice to know
Je¤sus leads, He knows the path¤way,
Joy¤ful¤ly with Him we go.

We must share in His re¤jec¤tion,
Dai¤ly face the bat¤tle’s strife;
Fel¤low¤ship with Him in suf¤f’ring
Brings the res¤ur¤rec¤tion life.

We shall bear our Mas¤ter’s im¤age,
Let this thought pos¤sess our soul;
All our life at His dis¤pos¤al,
On¤ward press¤ing to the goal.
