Souls of mine now drift¤ing down¤ward,
Stop, oh, stop in your ca¤reer;
Hark, it is the voice of Je¤sus;
Anx¤ious¤ly He’s wait¤ing near.

Chorus:
Oh, re¤turn, Oh, come, re¤turn.
Souls of mine, re¤turn to God.

On this earth I toiled and la¤boured,
Man¤i¤fest¤ing love di¤vine,
God’s own way and truth re¤veal¤ing
In this low¤ly life of mine.

On the cross for you I suf¤fered,
Paid your ran¤som with my blood,
Souls of mine, I died to save you,
Oh, re¤turn, re¤turn to God!

From the tomb I rose tri¤um¤phant,
Burst the bands of death and Hell,
Heark¤en now, your Prince and Sav¤iour
Longs with¤in your heart to dwell.

Judge of all the earth, I’m com¤ing
Soon to claim my cho¤sen Bride.
Oh, what an¤guish, weep¤ing, wail¤ing,
Shall be¤fall those left out¤side.
